# Requests from Salesforce

### Requests from Salesforce
Records of one object become Mercura requests together with their files.
Usually this is the Opportunity; Case, Lead, Contract, Work Order or a custom
object work as well. You choose:
- the **object** and the **account field** Mercura uses to assign the customer
(e.g. `AccountId`);
- a **rule**: conditions on fields of the record, for example Stage = "Quote
requested". A changed record that meets every condition becomes a request.
Complex logic is best kept in Salesforce as a formula checkbox and used here
as one condition "equals checked". This is also the way to encode queue
logic for Cases;
- a **send flag** (optional): a checkbox that lets sales send a record to
Mercura by hand. Mercura clears it after taking the record in;
- a **link field** (optional): Mercura writes the link to the request back
into the record;
- **request fields** (optional): fields of the record that fill your own
request fields in Mercura, for example a case or project number.

Mercura takes the files attached to the record (Salesforce Files). A record
without a file shows as "No documents" in the activity until a file is
attached. A record becomes a request only once; if it is sent again, Mercura
does not create a second request.
